Headlight Touring Setting

Hi

I'm just about to take my car on it's first trip to France (for me anyway). Can someone enlighten me on the touring setting for the headlights. Does this setting effectively swap the lights to work on the continent, reversing the pattern or does it blank out the section of light that would otherwise dazzle on coming traffic in France.

I originally assumed it was the former, however having now switched it over as a practice run before I leave, I've realised it's not something I want to tackle at the roadside. If I switch the setting over before I leave home, am I likely to dazzle on coming traffic on my trip down to the ferry port.

One other quick question, all the tools necessary to do the job were not in my tool kit, should I have a screwdriver in my kit?

Thanks

The touring setting only cuts off the nearside up-angled section of the beam if I remember correctly, so you should be fine to switch it over before leaving home.

You should have a double-ended screwdriver bit and handle in the tool kit.
