Headlight Washer Not Working - Not Covered Under Warranty!!

Just found a youtube video on how to replace the washer nozzle albeit in a 911

2 years old and this is not covered?
what are Porsche doing to themselves.
if a pipe is off water will flood onto the floor.
I f one is working then pump and supply tube ok.
Ive had this on various cars where body wax has choked the fine jet holes and have cleared them by careful poking with a sew needle of a suitable diameter, maybe lubricated by a shot of WD40 to help dislodge the material blocking the nozzles..
Could also try poking the needle in when a helper is triggering the washers to add a bit of pressure?
I would have expected OPC to have done this though.

If it were to do with the type of washer fluid used or hard water then surely they left washer would not be working either.
I would have thought OPC would have checked if the tube had come away and anyway when I have tested it there has been no leak of washer fluid on the ground.
I will be interested to check the owners manual when I get my car back to see if it says only use Porsche washer fluid and de-mineralised water!

My drivers side Headlight Washer is not working. it lifts up but no washer fluid is coming out. (left side is working fine)
This was picked up and reported to me when my Cayman went in for is 2year service in May. My car is in at my OPC today to look at this and they have just phoned to say that it is blocked and the can't unblock it and the unit will need to be replaced. However they are telling me this is not covered under warranty as it is deemed to be caused by external factors. They are quoting me £350 to replace (the front bumper needs to come off). As the car is only just over 2 years old and still within the 3 year warranty I am very unhappy being told it's not covered. I have only every used washer fluid supplied by Porsche or Autoglym. I don't see that I have used the headlight washers in any way other than what surely Porsche would intend.
My OPC is going to speak to Porsche UK to see if the will contribute to the cost. Even if they do offer an contribution it is still not satisfactory in my opinion.
Has anybody else experienced issues with the headlight washers not working and more importantly being told replacement it not covered under warranty.

Thanks Dan, Seems a simply DIY job assuming fitment is same in 718 Cayman bumper. Not sure why OPC says they need to remove the bumper if that is the case though.Scrounger said:
The replacement nozzle you've found says its a fitment for a 987, doesn't mention 982, but it certainly looks the same from the top part anyway.

This isn't the first time I've seen this, I had seen a report in Whatcar of a BMW owner whom had washer problems whilst in warranty, BMW blamed it on 'non BMW washer fluid' being used and therefore could not be held liable for the failure.
Not expected from any manufacturer nevermind Porsche! If I could order the LED PDLS lights without washers I would!

If they haven't cleared the blockage and confirmed the cause then it is entirely possible that there is a potential manufacturing fault of a bit of a casting or potentially assembly problem where some foreign material is in the system - especially as the car relatively new.
I would argue If they can't show you what is blocking it - then surely the can't prove its "external" - sure if they drained the washer fluid system - saw it full of random crap or found the inside of the unit caked in deposited chalk then they have a point, but if your other washers are operating fine on the same system with no issues, and given the age of the car, they are being awkward.

Yesterday my OPC called me with an update on the issues they were looking into, which included the SatNav maps not updating, but that's another story! I inquired as to the situation with the headlight washer and whether they had heard from Porsche GB about a goodwill contribution to the £350 they quoted me from replacing the headlight washer. The Service Advisor told me they had gone ahead a replaced the headlight washer as unbeknown to him when he initially called me on Tuesday the Service Tech has already got the bumper off, so they completed the job. I remined him I hadn't agreed for the chargeable work to be carried out and he said they would sort something out. I didn't have time to pursue the conversation then as I had a meeting to attend.
Anyway collected the car this evening all ready for a confrontation, but I was told there would be no charge. So in the end pleasantly surprised with the outcome.
SatNav updates still not fixed though.
Going to treat myself to some Radiator Grilles now, as I didn't have to fork anything out today. [
