Headlight Washer Problem

toals

New member
Just gave the car a quick wash and noticed that the chrome cover for the driver side headlamp washer is loose. It looks like its chrome but its actually plastic. Got the washer out of its housing and the cover is only being held by one retaining clip/ lug; the other one has broken off.

Can anyone advise if these covers are a porsche part no that can be ordered or do I have to buy the whole washer unit ?

Also any source other than the OPC.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Cheers

Sounds like you have been using them. That's what happens if you are going quickly. You have to buy the trim cover and nozzle assembly. The cover isn't sold separately.

Left - 996.628.143.00
Right - 996.628.144.00
£30.48 each +VAT.

Richard you are right, I was using them on a motorway journey a couple of days ago; have not really been used much since last winter. Is it better to replace the whole unit or just swap over the new cover.

Thanks again.

I would change the cap and nozzle as an assembly. You'll get a nice new jet that way. The old one might be a bit clogged up.

Two of the four nozzles on my washers are missing(presumed stolen). Squirt lots of water but not at the lights !.
Can they be bought as seperate items or can they be salvaged out of otherwise damaged units?

Cheers
