Headlight Washers

Paul, if you've got Brian Long's book on the 924, have a look at page 157 which shows the September 1983 UK price list. It indicates two different specs, a basic coupe without headlamp washers and a lux coupe with headlamp washers, but I can't find any mention of headlamp washers being standard fit on all UK 924s at any point even on the S.

Hello Martin

I found the same thing as well, no mention of it being standard at any point.

I think it was named as the M288 option code and there could be other option codes for heated washers etc. also

My car has the washers but I don't think it is listed on the option codes on my car, does that mean it was standard on the 1983 model year?

Has anyone got a 924S without washers I wonder?

Thats the question I was going to ask, all the S models I've seen have had them, not that most of them work by now lol

Yep, my 86 S has them but i've no idea if they work or not, i just drive in the rain with the lights up periodically.

Our '86S has them & they work-must admit ,they are not used that often & have to remind myself that the switch is on the central console.

Yep, the whole reason for having four washer-jets is so one can be aligned for passing tee-shirts... Did I just say that out loud?

there a real pointless feature, my 924 n/a lux model 1984 has them. I never use them?
There a real pain when removing refitting the bumper..
