Hi,

Anyone here with the clear Indicator lights taken out the amber plastic that's behind, And then used chrome flashing amber bulbs?.

Just want to know your opinions, it does grind on me that through the clear lens you can still see the amber plastic.
Kind of defeats the object of the design does it not. They should be clear or amber not both.

Go to http://www.renntech.org and do a search for"amberectomy" and you will find loads of info. Basically, you have to remove the amber bits through the bulb hole.

Ive removed the amber filters and fitted diadem type bulbs. It makes the light nor natural and they look well. The only advice I could give is to be very carefull if trying to force out larger pieces of the filter that you dont bend or damage the outer casing where the bulb holder fits. I slightly deformed one of mine and moisture could get in and create condensation in the lamp. A hot air gun easily straightened the housing and all is well again. I tihnk the website says to use a soldering iron to melt and deform the filter prior to removal, this is a good idea as they do take some breaking when cold. Also if you break them inside the housing, you can get small pieces of amber plastic loose in the lamp that can be difficult to remove. I will try to get a picture of the lamp with it removed and post later today. Dave

Many thanks for the Pics, They do look nice. I must admit I am not looking forward to remove those lenses. Especially knowing that Porsche import there plastic from the Planet Brittle. I thought your Paint looked fresh.
