morning all,
just a quick question regarding headlights whilst abroad,i know you have to have the deflectors but where is the best place to source them,im driving to the belgium grand prix

thanks in advance
mark

I thought all the headlights had the switch inside the headlamp to convert the beams, I know my 2002 S had these and was a simple matter of remove the lights, flick the switch and refit - a 10 minute job.
I cant remember if my 1997 2.5 had this same switch but i would check before you get the defelctors

mine does and its an easy job(once done a few times) but i thought they were only fitted on bi-xenons(which i have)

Quite a straightforward job which is shown in the handbook - even for the 'standard' fit headlights. You might have a problem with fitting beam deflectors to the plastic headlamps re the adhesive when it comes to taking off when you get back to the UK.

On the 986 std lights you will need deflectors from the OPC or you can use an aluminium tape as I have just to mask the kick up to the left ( right side of the lamp ) looking forwards.

If you have the Xenons on a 986 I think you can remove the lamps switch them over on the backs to continental setting then refit.

On 987's you can switch over both types on the back of the lamp but it still needs to be removed to do it.[8|]

You can get beam benders from the AA shop at the Folkestone Terminal if going by tunnel. Easy fit if you follow the instructions - they come off OK as well and if careful will re-fit with some clear double sided tape (yes I know I'm a cheapskate!).

it is exactly the same gary-thanks for that.-always good to see the instructions "in action"
cheers
