Headlights

Having now driven the car a couple of times in the dark, I find myself wondering if my headlights are on at all for all the good they do. OK, I know I have come from a car with Xenon "turn night into day" lights but I think candles would do a better job than the bulbs are doing.

I guess part of the problem is a battery that produces less power than hamster on a wheel but there must be something that can be done. And before the smart aRSes out ther start, not driving at night is not an option. And Des, we all know that badgers are nocternal so the car should be at home irrespective of the light levels [;)]

Please help. I am fed up of the carrots!

911 & Porsche world had an article a few issues back (maybe a year ago) about fitting Xenon units to a 964.
You even have to cut a hole in the inner wing behind the headlight unit on some cars so you would be adding lightness*[;)]

*More than counteracted by the weight of the trasformer units before anyone points it out[&:]

9M do a very effective Xenon lightupgrade for 964's.

See for all the details

My GF was once heard to comment "The lights on this RS are so poor, even the moths are not interested"

LOL

would it not be less hassle and cheaper to drive one of the many other cars you've got lying about if you've got to drive at night???[;)]

Des's car doesn't even have lights - he covers them up with those nice plastic thingummies. That's how hard he is! [;)][:D]

Simon,

I changed my headlight bulbs for the "60% more light" variety from Halfords. I think they made a spectacular difference - a very good £25 investment I thought. No holes to cut either!!!

Regards

I did the same a few years ago, and couldn't agree more.
