headlights?

Hi Guys
Can anyone tell me what kind of headlights would have been fitted as standard to a 2001 Boxster? Would they be HID xenon by any chance? Mine gives off a lovely bright white light but when I switch them off, if I try to turn them on again straight away they won't work, it's almost as if they have to cool down first, is this normal? In less than a minute they come back on after trying the headlight switch a few times and stay on without problems.
Cheers
JJ

Xenons were an option back then (and known as Litronics). Do you have a projector looking lens at the top ? That's the zenon bulb. The litronics also came with clear indicators and headlamp wash (although was was an option with the normal headlights, and owners can fit the clear sidelight plastic instead of the amber - jsut to confuse!)

Either way the delay in startup isn't right.
The litronics will lower and raise the beam on startup - you should be able to see this on a wall, but this takes only a second.
