Headlinning

My latest plan is to do away with the sunroof panel as ive never used them plus it doesnt work due to the motor and varoius other bits being missing and it also affects the fitting of my half cage so the plan was to strip the roof panel down to bare plastic and bond it to the roof and then fit a non sunroof headlinning over it. As far as i know it looks possible but im not sure how the non sunroof headlinning is held in place, does it use metal rods for support ??

Hi Jonathan, I pondered the same idea, but decided that the headlining would be too heavy :ROFLMAO: so it'll just be painted instead. I assumed the headlining was just stuck to whatever sound damping pad they fit in place (which I assumed itself was glued to the roof).

One of the most enjoyable moment working on my car was removing the sunroof mechanism, and mine was working perfectly at the time too [:)]

The headlinning and panel cover has been taken off my S2 and it looks possible apart from maybe a few of the bracket mounts may have to be chopped off. The non sunroof headlinning is still in a car so i can get what ever it needs to be fitted. As its going to be my daily driver when its done i want to keep a few comforts so im not going proper lightweight more like a 968 CS spec !!
