Headroom issue with helmet for trackdays

Afternoon chaps.

I've found myself in a bit of a difficult situation. I'll keep it short and sweet.

Purchased car with aim on doing a couple of trackdays every year. Yet to book anything!

Dug out my helmet and just sat in the car. I don't fit (6'2" with long torso). Head is 45 degrees with helmet against the headlining.

Car has the carbon buckets, so I thought fine, I'll remove the bottom cushion. STILL a tight fit for me, would require some slouching - certainly not ideal to spend an entire day on track!

So yes, what a sh*t show!!

I've seen these brackets, but there are mixed reviews about the differences.

Does anyone else have any experience or advice on this pickle I have found myself in....?

Because ultimately at the moment, it's either looking like doing no trackdays at all, trackdays in some discomfort, or selling the car for something else which I really don't want to do!

Thanks,
Martin

Which buckets do you have? Folding or full buckets?

If full buckets, and in case you don't know, they are electrically adjustable for height. There's a switch on the front right corner.

If folding buckets, they are set quite high and you'll be looking at lowering brackets I think...

I believe they are known as the GT2 buckets. Same ones found in the Cayman R.

NOT the 918 buckets found in the GT4 with electric height adjustment.

Folding buckets then, and yep they sit higher with no adjustment.

Looks like you'll need lowering brackets.

Suggestion.
As a hillclimb competitor for 30+ years many Porsches, Cayman GT4's in particular, are raced by some who are 'your shape' with helmets etc and zero probs, so there must be a solution.

Suggest contacting a company who prepares the cars for track use for their solutions?
You could ask this fitment question also in the motorsport section of this forum where I'm sure you will find a solution.
