Heated Rear Window Switch Backlight

My heated rear window switch backlight has flickered on and off recently, but the backlight has now stopped working. Previously, if you switched it on and off, the backlight started working, but this is not the case now.

Not sure if a bulb has blown or there is a poor connection when in the off position.

When switched on, the bright warning light works okay.

Does anyone know the correct way to remove the switch before I start taking half the dash apart?[:D]
