HEATED SEATS - PROBLEMS...HELP NEEDED

Hi,
I have just purchased a pair of second hand 993 heated leather seats.
They look in great condition and are the same as the ones I already have but with that extra heating option...

However, on installation yesterday I found a few problems.

Firstly, the heating on neither seat comes on - the fore and aft movements are all working OK. I have checked the 993 manual and I seem to be following instructions OK. Are there fuses that may need replacing or something else?

Secondly, on the driver's seat - it is at quite an upright setting - I cannot seem to get it to go into a slightly reclining position even on the maximum electronic movement it is still too upright to drive comfortably. I'm raising the levers on the top of the seat and pushing back but it will not go that extra few inches as the three other seats do.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks Maurice,

I can't see a fuse either...

I have the standard leather seats. When I raise the rake levers on the side of the headrests, the seat will still not fully recline - all the electric motors work OK - fore and aft and the height adjustment.

I have already taken the top half of the seat away from the base - quite straight forward, a few screws to remove the plastic cover and then a few bolts, to see if there was some sort of adjustment I could see - there wasn't.

Seat is now back together but still in the slightly upright position.

I will try and post some pics later.

Hi Fugaziops,

not meaning to sound patronising [:(]- but how many switches are there[8|]?

are your seats the type that has the manual lever ( under driver's left knee ) to adjust the rake of the backrest?

Speaking from the humble position of someone who only has basic electric seats,[;)]

Update:

Finally managed to get the seat to recline - just needed that extra push when pulling on the lever - maybe something was sticking a little... Working perfectly now.

Now to the matter of getting the heating to warm them up a bit. ..

Hi Tim,

Yes "" you are correct. The lever I used was the one under the driver's left knee.

Regards the other switches, I have two that affect the fore and aft and also height, then the heater switch. I do not have the fourth, which affects lumbar support I believe.

Thanks
