so I just ordered new heater washer jets, the wires on mine had been cut off[:(]

I,m guessing that the heaters operated with the heated rear screen?

but how do I wire them in? [8|] Any pictures or advice welcomed

cheers

don't know if its the same on a 944 but on the 968 the jets are heated when the ignition is on

from the drivers manual
5, 6
the windscreen washer pump is operated in
switch position "5". When the stalk is released

the wipers wipe the windscreen a few times.
In switch position "6", the windscreen washer
pump and wipers operate together

Before operating the wiper system, the windscreen
must be sufficiently wet to prevent the
glass from being scratched

blades regularly and replace at least once a
year

With the ignition on, the windscreen washer nozzles
are heated

I'd guess that they were snipped to remove the bonnet when your NACA duct was installed. Getting the wiring in and out is a bit of a PITA so easy to imagine a previous owner taking the easy way out.

Gone back to the original bonnet so duct is no more[:(]

if some could post a picture of where the wires go that would be great[:)]

bit concerned that if the ignition is on then the heaters are on, seems crazy

Good Q Ken - I knew about the heated washer jets but never knew when they came on. Being on with the ignition sounds a little strange, I agree.

I'm not sure how you would know if they work either. The jets on my S2 seem to work fairly well on cold mornings but not reliably on a very cold day, and I don't know whether that's a product of not mixing the screenwash solution too weakly or the jet heaters not working. Is there any way of telling whether they are heating up or not?

Oli.

I would switch the ignition on and zap them with one of these...

I got one off ebay just as a bit of fun, but has come in handy a few times

useful when looking for a misfire, the manifold will be colder on that cylinder than the others
used it to check what temp the stat opens,
used it to find the blockage in a radiator.

good little tool to have around
