Took my car out yesterday and turned the heater on and the only backlight that came on was when i switched the fan on,should all of the others come on and also the one on the console attached to the handbrake,if they should come on any ideas of how to rememdy the fault?
Thanks

Yes, there should be at least two other lights at the far ends on the heater control, that come on with the side lights.

Probably the bulbs have blown (mine were) and all that I had to do was change them. Again, quite easy if you don't mind sticking your head in the driver's foot well and working upside down. Well worth the bother, though. Bulbs aren't special but can be expensive depending where you buy them.

Not quite sure what you mean about the handbrake. On mine there is a combined handbrake on/brake pad wear/fluid loss and seat belt warning cluster on the dash. On mine one or two of the bulbs have blown, I think. Unfortunately, they are soldered in and cannot be replaced without removing the unit, assuming you can get hold of the correct bulbs. The unit itself is a NLA part - no longer available - so are pretty scarce. I'm in the process of buying one off eBay if it ever arrives! Haven't removed the cluster from the car yet so don't really know how difficult it might be to repair it.
