Heater blows hot & cold

I have a 1993 964 Turbo 2 which I have had only for a few weeks.

When the heater/climate control is set to warm or hot, you get nice warm air from the drivers side vent under the dash area, but my poor wife in the passenger side gets cold air on her feet!

I can't believe this is normal for a Porsche.....

Does anybody out there know if this is normal or does it have a fault somewhere which can be easily rectified?

Thanks

Jeremy

Jeremy,

It's a common problem. There are 2 air mixing chambers - one each side - and the air flow is controlled by flaps which are operated by servo motors mounted at the rear of the luggage compartment, just in front of the windscreen. They are notorious for failing but can often be repaired quite cheaply. John Miles has a very good technical section on his web site at http://www.porsche964.co.uk which describes in some detail how to repair them.

Many thanks for the advice - the article looks very helpful so I will have a go and see If I can repair it.

Thanks very much.
