Heater blows only COLD air

My 1990 944 S2 only blows out cold air, not matter what i do with the temp knob.
This is better than only blowing out hot air, but i do live in Scotland and it's rarely warm!

Is there something simple to look at for this?

This is I believe normally a failed ambient temp sensor which lives in the fan blower unit under the plastic cover immediately in front of the screen. Easy fix for a few quid from your OPC. Seems that the failed sensor tells the heater control that its roasting hot (even in Scotland) so the heater doesn't need to heat. IIRC pressing the de-mist button on the heater overrides the sensor and you do get heat in that mode but not the normal mode.

In this failure mode you usually get nowt until you cranking right up. Could also be heater control valve on the matrix feed. Controls feed of hot water on demand for heat.
