Heater bypass tube

I'd like to fit a heater bypass tube and chuck out the engine bay mounted heater fan as I've noticed the Carrera cup cars had this mod from the factory.

I bought one carbon fibre one from a guy in the USA who had some lovely pictures on the web of his products - When I received it the finish was awful and the tube size didnt fit properly - gutted after spending £130. Not happy

Anyway, does anyone know the part number of the official porsche one as fitted to the Carrera cup cars so I can order it from Porsche?

Julian

I've had a look at the bypass tube on my Cup Car and can't see any numbers without removing it.

Try Parr garage who look after the current Cup Cars, or there's a chap at Westcott, Neil Bainbridge, who looks after older Cup Cars.

Colin Belton of Ninemeister may be able to help.

Julian,
I've been hunting this for ages, as Melv says no part numbers, I've checked this on couple of other cup cars too. Sorry to hear the other was so poor - you've saved me from an expensive mistake though.
No luck at all through the OPC's (hard enough to make them understand what you want).

I wonder if any of our Cup car owners could get a mould made or lend the pipe for the purpose?

Edited for spilling! Mel

Yes Tony, the one i bought was a Thom Fitzpatrick item - his pictures look great but the product is a disgrace. I might be able to salvage it if I can't find any info on the OE one though - but it'll take a fair few hours of fettling and certainly will end up painted crackle black rather than bare carbon.

I'll keep you posted.

Thanks Julian - his are the only ones I've seen advertised.

Sorry about the spilling Melv - it was the exitment wot was to blaem! Wouldn't want to bring down the high standards!

Have seen an article on this either on JM's site or in 911 &PW will have a delve and see if I can find it. It may mention a source.

Laurence I've got a copy of the article I think your referring to (copied into a word doc). However I think the source is the guy causing Julians original agrivations! If you or anybody else wants a copy email me - I'd post it as an attachment but haven't work out how!

I'm sure you'll be right - maybe I just got a rogue one but it is amazing how 6000 miles can make someone selling something much less concerned about quality control....[>:]
