Heater control

Hi all

Anyone know if you can fit a 944.021.03 heater control head unit instead of the 944.021.00 fitted at present, the only difference I can see is that the .03 unit has numbers instead of the graduated blue to red circle on the heater control, all help appreciated.

As I understand it, the one with the graduated colour scale was fitted to early cars without the automatic temperature correction system. What difference this makes in terms of the functionality of the control panel I don't know. I'd be surprised if they were interchangeable, but I'm not sure.

My thoughts were that, although it is not linked to a sensor ( heater control 944S) it would still operate, and look more up to date, both units are about the same price second hand, still trying to find if the 03. will work, thanks.
