HEATER PIPE FOWLING OIL PIPE

The rebuild and heater backdating continues, almost there. However having fiited the elbows to the end of the heat exchangers and the relevant heater ducting the one on the offside is right up against the oil pipe, I don't remember it being this tight and have tried adjusting the backet that supports the oil pipe but it still pushes against the heater ducting.
Anyone else had this problem, I am concerned it will wear through the heater pipe with the vibration of the engine.

Hi Nik,
Just had a look at my set up (1983 SC) and there is about 6mm clear around the aluminium elbow that attaches to the end of the heat exchanger to the oil pipe so the elbow and the flex tube are clear of the oil pipe. The flex tube is about the oil pipe when connected. The oil pipe is supported by a bracket from the lowest bolt on the timing chain cover. By eye as a reference I would say the centre line of the horizontal oil pipe is about 25mm below the horizontal centre line of the heat exchanger (i.e. the flange around the heat exchanger).
Hope this helps
john
