Heater resistor pack

I need a heater resistor pack for my 1988 944 2.5 (the device that means that your heater only works at high speed when it fails).
I've searched all the usual places - Berlyn, Type 911, Porsche-a-part etc etc, even Ebay but I just can't find one.
Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

New? [8|]

These fail due to age. Buying a used one will only get you another resistor that's not failed yet, and it might well disintegrate between removing, posting and re-fitting. Sometimes the parts that last 20-plus years are only worth buying new, I feel the same about the clocks, fuel lines, tyres, many parts.

Have you tried giving it a spray with contact cleaner? This will work unless the thing's completely corroded and often keeps it going for years.

That's essentially what I said. Trouble is, the contacts corrode: contact cleaner does sometimes, in fact usually, resolve the problem. Even the pressure from a can of contact cleaner can blow the contacts apart, so I'd be very wary of stuffing a knife in there.

If the little brass contacts have broken in to pieces, then you have the choice of a used part that will be equally near to failing, or a new part that's going to remind you that you own a Porsche.

When mine went about 5 years ago they were £20 S/H from www.porsch-apart.co.uk

New ones were over £100 back then but always best to check with the OPC first

will post worldwide?

Mine looked like this:

Does the American one have a cover over the contacts, and should mine have a cover? In which case, where is the cover? []

Thanks for your help folks: someone from on here got in touch with me and sold me a very good used one. The old one was utterly corroded - really don't know how it worked at all.
