Heater

Hi all again. As per post on constant heat, I've checked the white plastic tab and it is indeed broken (and was in the hot position as you all have correctly suggested)
However, this didn't cure the problem. But having had a good look round (as is sunny) being no heat in the pipes to the heater, I've noticed that previous owner has by-passed the heater matrix!!!

I can only presume that it is either
a) the matrix was leaking
b) it was on constantly and so was by-passed

Question.

If I connect up the matrix how much water is likely to flood the car if the matrix is broken.
I would first drain, fill with clean water and drain again before connecting the matrix to avoid antifreeze on the carpets.

I presume that the 2 hoses that have been joined by a straight cinnector the the matrix pipes are those that feed the heater. (I'll check the manual as well)

Again, any suggestions gratefully received. (I bet you're all out as its glorious here this evening)

Many thanks
