Heavy Clutch

Pleased with new SS but need advice on the clutch pedal - it is very heavy like compressing a strong spring - I assumed it might be a feature of an older 911 but a German friend with classic 911s says it is not normal.

I will have to visit a local Porsche specialist - my main concern is that when compressed, the pedal is forcefully trying to spring back up and when my shoe is wet it might slip.

I have two other cars and can't believe the difference on the spring pressure - like a miniature leg press in the gym.

Can't be normal can it For a 1985 3.2?

I've just bought a 1986 Guards Red Targa Supersport and when I had a Porsche qualified pre-sale inspection they found that the omega spring on the clutch release arm was broken which they say would have made the clutch a bit heavier than it should be. Getting it replaced next week and possibly a new clutch cable if required.

I did drive a G50 car before deciding on the 915 car and it is a bit lighter.

Just picked up the Targa after having the clutch omega spring, the shaft it's mounted on and the bearings that support it, replaced and it certainly makes a big difference. There's still the pedal assembly end to check out but I can confirm that it's much better to drive.
