Guys, I'm looking to buy a Heigo cage. Does anyone know who the importer/distributor is. Will consider second hand. Thanks

Martin

Contact Heigo direct, they'll ship to the UK no probs. Be prepared to wait though, whatever they estimate for delivery time, double it.

Talat, judging from your post, you've ordered a Heigo cage at some point. Which one did you get? There are a couple of options available so would be interested to hear your thoughts.

Thanks.

Ben,

I went for a weld-in half cage with additional harness bar (part no. 516.021) - I did consider going for a full cage like the one Des has in his RS but my circumstances (i.e. small garage) dictated that a half-cage was more appropriate for my needs.

Cheers.

NO NO NO... FULL CAGE TALAT! Is your life worth half measures .... [:(]

I appreciate your concern, but sadly I'm not as lithe as your good self :) You should have seen me struggle to get in and then out of Matt's old Alzen car. Besides I don't fancy pushing the car in and out of the garage - may change my mind as the build progresses ... we shall see.

Thanks Talat.

Des can you send me pics of your cage please - is it bolt in or weld in ?

thanks,

ben

Tony at GTR motorsport sindlesham nr reading was building a cage into a 993RS when I had some work done on my 993 last summer, he has all the jigs, used to be head Porsche GB at reading bodyshop, excellent quality and probably quicker and cheaper than a Heigo and he has an excellent reputation - and you would get exactly what you want as custom built, (obviously not with Heigo logo on it tho!) maybe worth a call - 07980874690, he has a great reputation. No affiliation blah, blah, just a very satisfied customer HTH John

Talat the reason I kept my Full Heigo was that it was much more user friendly than the huge heavy Matter Monster ... I can get in and out with very little effort.

Tony does top, accurate work as you say - he did all the metalwork on Rance's 993 car. He is clearly very busy though and for my purposes / expenditure on this car a bolt in Heigo is likely to be the most appropriate way to go.

Could very readily change my mind - has been known!

Thanks for the input though John.

Ben.

Talat will send some pictures of mine by email ..... Serously there is no doubt that the full welded Matter/Copy is the ultimate but as a compromise and ease of use as you mention a FULl rather than half bolt in (welded bases) is the way to go. Having suffered and subject to periodic relapses the heigo works for me and my 93kilos (this morning) If I can get on with it surely you can .... but thanks so much for the compliments ...... [;)]
