Hello! & A Few Questions

Hello all!

I thought I'd say hello and share my experience of my first Porsche.

I have a 07 model year 987 2,7, but added the sports pack (6 spd gearbox and PASM), wind deflector, full leather heated seets, sports steering wheel, park assist, 18" wheels and door entry guards.

Prior to this I've owned three other "sports" cars a MR2 GT16, Subaru Impreza WRX (great performance, but crap interior and economy even when driven gently) and a Nissan 350Z which I loved but got written off when a foreign lorry side swiped me on the M20.

Well, what can I say? It's fantastic. The build quality, performance and handling are all first rate, the luggage space is better than the 350Z and MR2 and the engine noise is to die for! Economy is averaging 32MPG even given the odd "caning"!

The OPC at Tonbridge are first rate.

Would I ever go for another make of Sports Car? No Way! [:)]

A few questions for you?

The hard top is very well made, and I'm undecided on whether to buy one for the winters as the price is half way to a similarly specified Cayman. For those of you who do have one, what are your thoughts?

Is the short shift option worth going for next time round?

Do the 5mm wheel spacers make any noticeable difference?

All feedback welcome and thanks for a great club and site.

Richard
