Howdy folks.

I'm a long time German car fan at the budget end of things- I've had a nice selection of "youngtimer" mercs and vw's but the idea of a nice straight and modest Porsche 924 2.0l has really taken my fancy... So, if you hear of anything in this part of the world, please get in touch-
The more 70's the colour, and the more pinstripey the interior, the better!

Hi Jack, sorry don't know of any 924's in Glasgow or within S.Scotland region of club.

Try Autotrader, Pistonheads, ebay etc. You will most likely have to travel to find the car but it can be worth it to get the right one (I had to go to Peterborough 360 miles).

Check out 924 & 944 forum also.

pistonheads is probably your best chance and you will probably have to travel,

you could try gumtree glasgow, tend to get some of the lower cost cars on there and more local,

be careful what you buy, parts arent hugely expensive for old 924/44s but their not cheap either,

evern with them being galvanised, sills and (inner sills) Jacking points all suffer from MOT failing corrosion,

If you want a good one - try and source one that has been owned by club member - post up on the 924 forum and check out the adds section or even join the club and watch the adds in the club magazine,

regards
scott.

I'd be prepared to travel, bought my car from Birmingham from an Autotrader ad. You say you want a 2L but including 2.5s will increase the number of cars to choose from and running costs/insurance wont be much different - as so many parts from a 924S are interchangeable with a 944 it might work out cheaper.

Anyhow good luck with the search!
