Hi, having just acquired a 1989 2.7 944 Lux as a "Project Car” to keep me out of the pub, I’ve just joined PCGB (again, as I was a member in the past when I was fortunate enough to own new Porsche’s) and am saying hello.
I’m having the bodywork on my car checked over as it looks like it will soon need sills. Carrington Porsche near Nottingham are arranging this and the belts changed / engine service etc. Other more minor works I’ll aim to do myself.
The drivers door door remains stubbornly stuck closed however. I’ve tried all the usual things such as lubing locks inside and out, checking the central locking fuse etc. Electrically the car is all good, so i think the issue is mechanical. Symptoms are that the lever within the outer door handle isn’t springing back. The inner door handle works and is audibly moving the lock but not releasing it. The top of the door button doesn’t seem to be moving up or down. I appreciate this is probably going over many old posts so apologies for that. But any help or guidance or pointing to the relevant prior post would be very much appreciated.
Many thanks
Chris
