Hello everyone!

New member
I thought I should post in here first and say hello!

Im Steve, Im living In glasgow now after moving here from fife. I currently drive a Drift prepared Nissan 200sx S13 which is now for sale as ive been after a Porsche 944s for a few years now and decided now is the time!

Ill be looking use it for track days etc too, possibly see how well it drifts although id expect no where near as good as my S13.

Anyway! Hello everyone! any advice, tips, hints etc would be very welcome!

p.s if anyone is interested in a px or swap or even buying my current car then thats even better!

If you would like to see my current car check here : http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/119238.htm

I hope ive not broken any forum rules by posting that link, if so I apologise in advance!![:)]

Hi - try the 944 section - they are pretty friendly in there [;)]

Where do you drift your car ?

Pete

You should come along to our monthly get together and talk to our track "experts"

More folk will be on later

Last drift day I was at we hired Ingleston and had a custome track layed out :)

Also done a bit at knockhill and at JAE in peterborough back in july. Been kinda everywhere really!

So I take it most of your track days are at KH? or have you been elsewhere?

Hi Fella. Welcome to the forum. There are a few of us on here that would like to learn how to control a bit a sideways action so look forward to your input and advice.

Hi - thats my part of the world, but I don't know JAE?

My last track day instructor at Bedford was a drift car guy, did not get his name though, sorry

Pete

Hi Steve and welcome along to the forum, let us know how the search for a car goes and maybe come along to some of our meetings or events

Thanks guys! I wasnt too sure how you guys would take me at first being a "drifter" most people seem to think drifting is just uncontrollable skidding and therefore think were hooligans! Thats so not true!

Im more than happy to give people advice and tips, ive been drifting myself now for about 4 years all in albeit its been on and off due to changing cars so much!

I think Ill probably end up down south to buy a 944 though as they seem to be much better condition! Where is the next monthly meet and when? I would be very interested in coming along !

As for moving from fife to glasgow, it was due to me getting an excellent job working for weir pumps in cathcart so commuting was a nightmare!! plus in addition to that I had a lot of friends over here anyways through various car forums etc [:D]

Heres a sample for you! I have so many pics, this ones not that great but shows some twin drifting with my m8 Ally(hes in the red one)

Welcome along to the forum..not many of the guys into this well not intentionaly have seen a few sideways moves at KH [:D]
The club meet at the Sherbrooke Hotel Pollockshiels on the first Tues of the month at 8pm not sure about Jan 2 nd.
Look on pistonheads as there is a944s2 in Ayrshire for sale has done a lot of miles and had 10 owners but is a cheap car could get you into Porsche ownership.

Brian

I see you found your way over to the dark side ..they can talk P... all day long [:D]

Hi and welcome to the club.

The 944 guys are very friendly and knowledgeable and the 944 forum is by far the busiest on the site.

The main things to look for are electrical gremlins and the sills. If you get a good 944 it will provide you with a fantastic driving experience for Fiesta money. I would advise spending the money buying a good one rather than one needing a lot of work.

I hope you find the car you want. Give me a shout if you want any more info/advice.

Brian considering there will be a lot of you up at St Andrews for lunch I would assume that the evening meeting will be postponed maybe Greig will let us know

I intend that the meetings go ahead as normal, there are plenty who aren't going to St Andrews

lolo Steve. Welcome. Like yourself I'm pretty new to the forum, although I've been a PCGB member since Jan 94. I live in Helensburgh now and am in the Royal Navy so I have been away at sea for the last few years and not had many chances to participate in club or regional events. I've had 2 944s - an 88 Lux which I kept for 2.5 years before I bought my current S2 in April 96 and have had ever since. Still puts a big smile on my face. Good luck and happy hunting.
