After many years with air - cooled 911s i decided it was time to try a 996 .
In the end i decided on a 996 turbo for several reasons including
1. I love 911 Turbos and have owned 930 and 964 versions and want to experience the evolution further
2. The 996 is my choice blend of old and new water cooled versions , and great entry price too ( a/c becoming collectors only )
3. I want something with all year round drivability and comforts that i can let family and occasional friend use .
4. Great all round performance and reliability , to include the occasional track day in any weather
5. Good compliment to a normally aspirated 964 i hope to add next year .
I landed on a Turbo S with factory short shift . Owned a couple of weeks now , driven 500 miles and am
a happy chappy []
Thanks to Richard Hamilton for timely advice at the nervous PPI time !
