Erm, well my engine has been stripped, just needs putting back together now, piece of cake...[8|][:D]

Keep looking at my 944 and wondering how much kidneys go for these days...[8|]

I thought everyone knew that pink ones are faster?![8|]

There were scores on a couple of the original barrels/bores, so we have sourced a good s/h set from a 964RS, where the owner had upgraded to 3.8 barrels and pistons.

If only I could get Ebay to agree to me listing my kids, I might have been tempted to go down the same route myself.

£3.5k for a set of 3.8 barrels and pistons, gulp!

I'm sure you'll not be disappointed when you finally get driving her, just don't expect a kick in the back when you hit the pedal on the right, more of a gentle surge. As different as she'll feel i'm sure she wont disappoint!

She looks nice anyway, especially with the dark wheels - what are they? Satin black?

Wheels are a graphite colour, I think.

Gentle surge?!

Hope not, after remap & decat, lightweight RS flywheel & clutch and then some judicious weight shedding, should be looking at 290bhp and around 1270kg, so it should be nippy, but no Thor hammer kick in the back![:D]

I can see why they call them air cooled engines now [;)]

Still think that's one really pretty car. What made it necessary to strip the engine down, was it preventative maintenance or was it burning a lot of oil?

I got it for a very good price, primarily due to it needing a top end rebuild as it was misfiring on one cylinder and had very poor leakdown results.

So, it is the old adage of "whilst I'm in there", hence the lightweight RS flywheel etc!

Still, you're a long time dead[8|][:D]

It should be fun to drive, as it is on KW V3s with polybushed front suspension arms and I'm having the geometry done to close to RS settings, albeit fractionally higher ride height

Do you intend to turbo it so that it will keep up with a 944 t [:)]. Looks a lovely car, almost bought a 964 a few years ago but could find a good one for the money back then. Did you get good money for the 944? I was considering selling my 1990 turbo due to a new business venture but think I may regret it.

Can't blame you at all [:D] Any idea when it'll be back on the road?
