Hi everyone,

Just to say hello and let you know that a short self-introduction and my contact details will be published in the August issue of PorschePost. I will also log onto this forum regularly.

I'm hoping we can have a few paragraphs in our 964 section of the magazine each month, so please email me with your Porsche exploits/work in progress/photos and I will forward them for printing. Max 1000 words please.

For info, my current event attendance plans are: R29 Cowdray Park polo picnic 18th July, Silverstone Classic Saturday 24th July, Kirtlington Polo 15th August, 964 Register BBQ 29th August and the Porsche Club stand at the NEC Classic Motor Show in November. Assuming my 964 behaves herself and doesn't suffer any problems, she will attend all of these events with me. If you're going along to any of them, please come and say hello. You certainly won't be able to miss my 964. She's a 1990 C2 Targa, in a 'L998 colour to sample' shade of yellow that closely ressembles a sunflower.

Cheers for now,

Amanda

Hi Amanda,

I echo Steves welcome to the register and good luck with the RS job.

I see you plan to attend the BBQ in August and look forward to meeting you there.

I don't know where you're located, but if you're close enough to drop in to the Hotel for a look around prior to the BBQ, please contact Michelle on 01252-844871.
Michelle is my better half and organised the event with Dave W last year. If you want to email her it's m.chilton@elvethamhotel.co.uk
I would imagine Dave has already given you the details, but I'll pass yours onto Michelle anyway.

Cheers and welcome again,

Bob.

Hi Amanda & big-up 2 u for taking on the RS job for us 964 reprobates :)

Thx for the events shout in yur post too - I must get my a** in gear, 'cos I have said I would go to some of those ! I seem to remember making a rash promise when I popped in to PCGB HQ that I would lend a hand at the Polo one too.. I wonder if anyone's remembered ;)

See you at the BBQ for sure - must remember to starve the whole week before ! Went last year & I associate BBQs with a few sausages & a burger. How wrong was I !!

Hello there and welcome!

Wow, yellow 964, very rare! Any pictures?

Yes, once I've got the battery charged and can take her somewhere nice! (Hopefully the R29 July pub meet). I've got a couple of happy snappy pics outside the front door, but they don't do her justice.

Also look out for a forthcoming feature in one of the high-street Porsche publications. (Issue month TBA). The car has been a star in a film with one of the lead characters. You can read additional details in my PorschePost introduction.

Change of topic. Ref my contact number details appearing in the August edition. Please note that for my own personal security, I do not answer the phone to calls with numbers that are either 'withheld' or 'unavailable'. Please could I request that you ensure your phone number is displayed. Of course, there will be times when I'm just not able to answer the phone, in which case please do leave a message and I will return your call as soon as I am able. Many thanks in advance.

Amanda

Welcome Amanda...........

Is ownership of a yellow 964 mandatory for the post holder I wonder?

Guess your car might look something like this -

Firstly, Amanda welcome!

Secondly, Ade, your signature has a similar stable to my current one, coincidence?

964 C2 3.8 1990 (track)
Impreza WRX STi3 2.5 wagon 1997 (Daily)
205 Mi16 1990 (SORN :( )

Spooky!

I suspect whatever draws you to a certain car may well exist in the others you fancy. 964, scooby and 205 all have acertain something for sure....

Ade, yes, that picture you've posted is THE (my) 964!!

Amanda

EDIT: Strangely enough I very nearly bought an Impreza WRX as a daily driver, but the allure of two Porkers was just too much to resist. Plus, I can't fill the Boxster up with junk - hatchbacks and saloons have just too much room in them and they turn into a bit of a black hole, stuff goes in and never comes back out! The downside is if I do want to transport something, there's a limit on what will physically and safely fit into a Boxster. Only time will tell if my choice was the right one.

[FONT=verdana,geneva"]Hi Amanda,

Great you're on board - and from the same region as my good self! The yellow does look stunning and I remember many many years ago the RAC did some visual awareness tests on car colour... and the colour that can't be missed in all daylight/dusk conditions - yellow!

I have a couple of potential PP 964 diy recent experiences if interested. Been meaning to turn them into words with the pics I took. Just got to get round to it.

Welcome again.

Marcus

I did wonder if your car looked exactly like that one....not seen too many kicking around in sunflower yellow, but did remember one being at the same place I got mine from.....

The Scooby IS a far better storage place/load carrier than the 964 for sure. I've even used it to service from when rallying the 205!

Marcus, yes please send in your words and pictures. I'd like to try and get something in as many copies of PP as possible.

Amanda

Welcome to the forum and did you volunteer for the post or is it a paid profession!!![:D]

Anyway my three year old liked your "yellow car" as opposed to my "orange car"...but hey ho he will mature.

Yours is a very unique combination and I am still declaring mine to be the only UK's "guards red" wide body!!

Kind Regards

Siraj

Hi Amanda,

welcome to the forum and very nice looking targa.

With regards to pictures and stories, would you be interested in my 964 cabriolet that I have saved.

If you change the display topics to last 365 days there is a post called "Newbie - Car History which has some photos on to give you an idea of what it looked like to now. Its on page 12.

Regards lee
