your Boxster looks great, lovely condition. Is it Polar Silver?
I bought my 986.2 2.7 in March this year (in that colour) also a 2004 model, which I‘ve been delighted with!
Starts first time, every time,a few thousand more miles on the clock now, and the roof has spent a lot of time down [
I have to say it is the most thrilling car I have owned...hope you enjoy yours as much!

I bought the car as I had a very specific set of requirements and I felt that it fulfilled them. I have a theory that the best drivers cars are from the early 2000's, certainly before the banking crisis made CO2 and MPG the primary drive. I have come from a long line of turbocharged Subarus as my fun cars and with every car being turbocharged these days I knew I didn't want that, plus I had become very tired of the narrow power delivery. My most recent Subaru was a 330s hatchback and it was a very capable machine, being insanely fast and grippy. The trouble was that you could never have any fun, even in the wet it had way more grip than I could push beyond on public roads and the only thrill was the crazy acceleration, but it became dull. When driving at normal speeds it was a boring hatchback with a nasty interior and one dimensional soundtrack. Naturally I wanted something that was more fun to just be in, with a multi-dimensional sound. I wanted something that felt classic, but could be used like a modern car. Something with genuine character that stood out from the crowd but without breaking the bank. I had a fairly wide budget, but I didn't want whatever I got to be un-useably expensive and if it could potentially rise in value or not lose me anything that would be a plus. After looking around for a few years, these Anniversary editions just kept rising to the top. They seemed to be going up in value and when thinking about a convertible car that handles well with a great soundtrack and a manual box that has some luggage space, feels classic and special and isn't too expensive, there is in fact only one choice. I have been completely blown away with how well it fits my criteria. I am very surprised how well it drives for a 16 year old car and the various levels on which it can be enjoyed. The interior is old school, but that adds to the classic feeling and was something I wanted. The drive however is really up to date and I am amazed at how well it handles for such an old car. It is great when cruising and when pressing on. The engine sounds distinctly different depending on how it is being used, but it always sounds great. It looks amazing in this Anniversary trim and has been winning fans with everyone who has seen it. Naturally, later versions of the Boxster are faster and better built with more mod cons, but they don't quite have the right classic feel and most are still depreciating. A 911 is always a good choice, but I wanted a convertible and the 911 ragtop doesn't look quite right for me, it has less luggage space and in order to get one that stands out a bit and feels special it would have been prohibitively expensive. I am very glad to have made the right choice and a foresee many many years of joy filled motoring in this. I had always considered myself a Subaru guy, my family owning many since the mid 80's due to living out in the sticks, but I am now very much a Porsche guy and will be forever. Here are a few more pics taken over the weekend.
