Hello all!

I have just acquired my first 996 - what a brilliant week so far!

2001, Carrera 2 Coupe manual in lapis blue circa 70k miles. It was advertised on collecting cars but didn’t meet reserve, some of you may have spotted it.

Im no stranger to the brand having previously owned a 987 Boxster S which I adored so much that I then setup a small independent Porsche dealership in Nottingham (I won’t name names as this is not a marketing exercise - don’t worry!) Which I’ve been running for some time. I buy and sell around 30 Porsches a year.

Sales wise I tend to do the much newer stuff and have never been Involved in the now classic 996 but when I thought of what I liked in these cars generally it was the raw, connected feel and the 996 was the only choice for me.

The plan is to go to a different UK spot of beauty each month (national trust etc), a wedding in Florence in august and down to Le Mans late summer with my other half who has yet to be convinced into driving a Porsche (she’s very nervous!).

I really want to get the most out of my membership and the community as I never found the time when I had the boxster so I’ll absolutely try and come to some of your great events and meet you lovely people in person!

thanks for putting together such a great resource.

Hi Callum,

Welcome….. Lovely looking 996.

I have a 2004 996 C4, which I have had since 2005 and I still love driving it.

I hope to catch up at one of the events.

Tim

Cheers all - I do love the colour - such depth in all lights.

Really liking your Carerra classic alloys as well, hmmmm maybe something for me to think about!
