i have had this problem for a while and its driving me mad,
since we bought the car its had a judder at 2500 revs it seems that the engine is trying to jump out the car feels like it has a bad misfire, it only happens at 2500 on steady or light load throttle, really annoying but it can be easily driven round. but thats not the main fault but it may be linked, the main problem is that it dosent always start, when cold fires straight up no problem, when hot starts up no problem but when its been hot and left to cool (heatsoak?) it will not start at all just spins over, eventually when cools it starts fine, once running runs ok (apart from judder).
have replaced coil, dizzy cap, rotor, plugs were done with a top end rebuild (no difference) just had the dme computer tested and an ignition circuit fault repaired and maf tested, new dme relay and replaced speed sensor (not done refrence sensor or head temp yet ) just found today when wont start theres no spark.
is there any more checks i can do to pin down the faults, (im certain they are linked) all the sensor resistances check out when cold
