Hi all,

Im looking for recommendations of hotels, country pub accomodation etc near portsmouth or within an hour or so, suitable to park the Porker overnight and suitable to take a 6 yr old, otherwords not in the facinity of squads of hens n stags out for a night in Portsmouth. Were off to France and due to a family illness we cant stop overnight in Cranleigh as we had planned!

Any andice would be much appreciated.

lovely pub in a beautiful setting
seems a bit expensive for a pub but rooms are all little cabins in garden refurbished to a high standard and just delightful
two have hot tubs
food in restaurant good and good value - quality at a fair price
I imagine child friendly though mine aren't that age any more
safe car park - its miles from anywhere
easy 30 minutes to the ferry at Portsmouth
the road to the pub (Chichester to South Harting and on to Petersfield) is by some way the best bit of tarmac round here - just watch out for wildlife.

ive stayed at the hilton southampton
its right on m27 m3
