Help: Ball Joint splitter needed

Hi all,

I am in the process of fitting new Sport suspension to my C4, as it is a C4 I have had to disconnect the drive shaft and all the ball joints, unfortunately there is one ball joint which requires a longer ball joint splitter than is easily available, Porsche will see you one for £200!! (it is just a slightly longer version of the £20 one you can get in Halfords).

I am in Surrey, anyone down south have one?

£200!! What's wrong with the old fashioned way of forked bar and hammer? Splitters available from Machine Mart.

We did check Machine Mart who do appear to do a nice set of forks but forks in my experience have a much higher risk of splitting the rubber. Sadly you can't just replace the ball joint. Porsche will kindly only sell you a new wishbone at 200 quid! Here's a fact, the wishbones have almost doubled in price in the last 5 years, I'm guessing since Porsche has recognised them as a comsumable. Cynic, me :)

But not to worry the fantastic guys at GT1 have offered to lend me theirs! How cool is that!

Obviously my car is going there to have the suspension re-aligned but even so, excellent customer service.
