Can someone give me some advice? I've just sold my 9972S, and need to buy a stopgap Porsche on a cash budget of 10 - 12k. Having looked at 996 (only very iffy cars at this price), and 964s (still a possibility), It seems that my best option is a Boxster S around 2001 MY. What are the pitfalls? There are plenty around in this price bracket, but what should I be looking out for? All advice gratefully received.

Thanks, but it has to be the 3.2S - preferably black on black. See? - already decided at heart level, but need some head advice (I've been told)
Good luck

RMS failure is the only thing specific to Boxsters that age that I can think of (but I am not an expert!). Worth checking the hood to check it works smoothly and the condition of the plastic rear windscreen (supple and no cracks or scratches).

With the way prices are going you should be able to get a low mileage S for the sort of money you're looking to spend. Only problem you may have is finding a black one. When I was looking I found lots of arctic silver (the best colour!) and other greys and silvers but I don't think I found a single one in Black.

Thanks Rodney. Actually, I've just bought a 996, so this thread is probably redundant as far as I'm concerned - not looking for a Boxster anymore. Thanks for responses
