Help! brake ducts and side lights

Hi Guys. I have a brake cooling duct replacing the front side lights on my race car. I want to keep them as part of my restoration as I believe that the additional cooling will help. The problem is that I'm not sure where to fit my front side lights. I am hopeful that they can be re located in the body of the main front light assembly. I noticed that you have the same ducts on your car Steve, how did you get around it? Anyone got some info? Also, I would like to shorten the final drive ratio if possible. Is the hardware readily available, has anybody done this and do they recommend it?

Thanks

Steve R

I run clear indicators. I used a high output LED sidelight from aceparts and fitted this into the indicator at the front (near where it meets where the foglight would be). There is actually an indent on the indicator where lights (maybe markers) may be fitted in other countries, Cut this out and fitted the original sidelight holder into this cut out. This does not overpower the indicator in any way and all passed MOT. Unit 11 in Warrington did the work so 'I' is actually Danny!

Hope this helps

Steve, ref the diff...on my 993 I have what is effectively the 964RS single mass flywheel, which is also used on 996Gt3..... My diff plates are motorsport items from a 997, so as far as I know all these parts are more or less interchangeable..I have driven a 993 RS/CS with 8/32 CPW, which was manic!...I would assume this would be the same one you would fit to a 996 Gt3 when doing the conversion, so Parr/JZM would be well up to speed on this.

As silver 7 says side light bulbs are fitted to indicators with clear lenses,
I can recommend the 8/32 king & pinion, faster acceleration with reduced max speed ( 150 mph )

I bought LED's and holders from RS Componets, and fitted (araldite) in the lower section of the headlight bowl

Decided to fit one on both sides of the bowl to get a 'balanced' result

Picked up the earth within the headlight assembly, and a single 1mm core back into the loom.

Cheers
Graham

Graham, I like your solution. I assume you've only fitted one bulb per unit, from the second image it looks like the headlight is lit in two areas - or is this just an illusion?

Regards,
