Help! creaking steering that isnt the front control arms

Hi Ive read a few posts on this forum with people who have experienced similar problems. My steering column seriosuly creaks when you turn the steering wheel both ways - the only problem is that it doesnt happen all of the time. A few days ago I forked out a fortune on new control arms for the front of the car. This stopped the squeeking that was experienced when going over bumps, or when entering the car and adding weight. So in that respect the job was worthwhile. The thing is, the creaking was back today during driving but more so when parked up.

Ive spent a fortune and have the same problem. I'll no doubt take it to the garage and the problem will temporarily vanish. Anyone experienced similar?

What what you suggest before I take it back to the garage?

Thanks

You sure the creaking isn't from dried out rubbers/bushes on the column itself within the passenger cabin, and not from the exterior steering rack/suspension components ?

I really have no idea. Is it something that I can do? That is checking the rubbers and bushes on the column? And is this anoher expensive job? Thanks again
