First of all like to say a big Hi to everyone.

Anyway maged to drive my Boxster into small wall (reversing) and i had dented/distorted the bumper on the passenger side.
I have tried to source a replacemt (not paynig OPC prices) but cannot find an exact match somehow. My car is an 04 plate 986 and the rear spoiler has the 2 lower 'diffusers' built into it. Everyone one i come across has not got these ??

Where can i source a bumper at a reasonable price (secondhand if need be) ?
Is mine repairable and if so could i remove it and take it to local bodyshop - shall i post a pic of it ??

Any advice much appreciated

First step is to take it to a local friendly body shop, you'd be surprise what magic they can work.

Yea. was thinking that. Would they need to remove the bumper though. Also a tip for anyone reading this. I actually damged one of the fuel lines with fuel pumping out, after removing cover underneath it was only a push-fit connector that came loose.

Cheers

yes, maybe to do the work - but that is not a long job. Most of them would be able to give you an assessment of how "fixable" it is just by looking at it.

Fact that you damaged the fuel lines, however, makes wonder how "small" that wall was?[&:]

the rear bumper design was changed with the facelift for MY03 - all cars built after this time have the rear diffusers. Somewhere like Jasmine Motorsport in Lancashire may have a replacemnt used bumper in the correct colour. You can probably get someone like chipsaway to sort it if it not too bad.

Think i may more than chips away mate...........lol. Gonna ring Porsche and price a replacemnet and also try your number above and pop it down our local cut/shut bodyshop for a price.

Cheers

Chipsaway or dent removal guys can take out punched in bumpers (using a heat gun and damp pad) quite easily and get them back to normal.

Sounds like its more serious then if its scraped plastic and paint.

I broke a bumper (big cracks and dented areas) on a 56 reg Box but Porsche Reading were able to 'Plastic weld' it and repair with not much cost or paint and it was a right mess after i had hit it on my garage........ £200 ish at the time. They had a purpose machine for this job on bumpers.

Good luck!!
