HELP PLEASE

i have just collected a genuine OPC wind deflector for my 944 cabbie. (part number 000 043 202 50)

where the heck do i put the two stays which Porsche seem to be telling me should go behind the rear seat tops.

cheers

IIRC the 2 stays slot into the access holes for the hood motors. These are the 2 round plastic caps in the side panels just a couple of inches futher back from the rear speakers.

That is my understanding also, although the one I had was not the Porsche one so I have no direct experience.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]I believe there should be replacement covers for the two blanks that are there as standard and those replacemebts have a socket in the middle for the deflector to clip into.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

I have just fitted the Classic Additions one (also sold by Porscheshop) to my car this afternoon, this one uses brackets from the top seatbelt mountings but no support stays.
First impressions are good "Does what it says on the box."

That's the one I had. Transforms the car to something you can actually use with the roof down.

hi

the two stays on the side i can understand, but there are also two on the back horizontal piece, along with two pieces of elastic

Having seen one fitted I know the back section is intended to rest to the top of the rear seats. Based on that can to work out where they go?

job sorted thanks to Dave sending me a photo.

I must say that it is a poor fitting arrangement for such a high priced part.

the best laugh was when the OPC told me that non of their fitters knew how to fit it, but if i paid them the £48 accessory fitting charge, they would eventually sort it out for me.

anyhow, wifes happy now so all is well.

Thanks to everyone who replied.

Yes it does make the back seat unusable....BUT defo stops that anying backdraft of cold air.....[;)][;)]

For contrast the Classic Additions one is held on with a bracket from the seat-belt top mount. The bracket is two-piece and held together with a screw capped by a knurled knob so it can be undone by hand for removal. Literally a one minute job.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]I'm not saying I think the CA one is better (in fact I always was slightly jealous of a mate's genuine one), but it's cheaper than OPC prices and perfectly good.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]The only other difference apart from mounting I could see is that the genuine one has a horizontal frame that rests on top of the rear seats as well as the vertical section whereas the CA one has a frameless mesh "skirt" that attaches to the front of the seats with velcro to stop draught under it (which is the purpose of the horzontal section on the genuine one). In theory I guess someone could sit behind the CA version with their legs under it, though getting in and out would be tricky.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

ORIGINAL: 944turboS

Clifford if you are going to the dynoday my car will be there with the CA winddeflector fitted.

Will you be folding it down for the actual power run as the aerodynamic drag could mess up your figures []
