I have recently brought a 2004 boxter S and have a few questions for the wise
Firstly my intumescent wiper knob doesn't seen to work is this a common problem and if so is it an easy fix
Secondly some times when I get in the car a get a repeated clicking sound from the door lock button on the dash or around that area , any idea's?
Thirdly I am getting a squeak from my seat belt as it moves through the strap on the top of the seat, any one any tips on what to use on the leather to stop it and that wont kill the leather or seat belt
Apart from those small niggles it's the dogs and drives like a dream [:)]

Thanks for your help

1st: When you say wiper knob, you mean the one on the CD and AC panel and not the stick on the steering wheel right? It is just a speed interval control; so once the wiper is set to the lowest interval (think, down on the stick) you can then control the intervals via this knob by turning it clockwise or counter-clockwise. This is not available in the Boxster, Just Boxster S and 911s I think.

2nd: I had this problem, it seems like the alarm system trying to validate the CD-player code; it just happens for a little while and stops right? I found it went away if you did not leave the CD in the player. I was also told that it was not covered by the extended warranty but if a lot of us have this 'feature' then we may have a case.

3rd: You have the Sports seats right? I have found this at times too; changing the seat incline angle usually sorts this out... Also remember if the passenger has left the buckle hanging on the side then it will knock along the seat and make an annoying noise while you drive... you need to put it back on the seat side...

Sounds like a fault, the time interval is fully controllable as you turn the knob, maybe a fuse needs changing; sorry not got enough mechanical knowledge to advice on which fuse to check...

Edit: also, have you got Rain Sensor? I don't, so not sure how this would work in conjunction with the rain sensor...

If it's a factory-fit rain sensor then it would adjust the sensitivity. If it's a recent Porsche retrofit one, then the knob does nothing.

If it hasn't got rain sensors, check the plug on the back of the knob. It might have become disconnected, especially if someone has been fiddling around in there - the wires are quite short, and easy to pull off.

I am in and out of the car all day so un popping it and doing it back up is a bit of a task

I just thought you guys might know of some bizarre Phalaenopsis orchid sap infused anti squeak wax with Teflon extract that would do the job [8D]

Okay, try talcum powder... [:D]

or a water based lubricant......shouldn't harm the leather[8|]

What is happening with this forum?

Someone called Licker and Poker wants help as a virgin and posts about knobs and strap on.

and the resulting replies say that all can be resolved by just tipping the seat back and using a water based lubricant!!!![;)][;)][;)]

Boxster forum wins todays prize as sexiest forum[:D][:D][:D]

either that or being stuck in all day because of the 9hrs so far of rain is sending me potty...[:(]
