HELP!!! How to change rear lower control arm

New member
This may have been posted, I need some technical help on how to change lower control arm ( the longer one connecting to bottom of Suspention strut and then to cross member) I can't seen to get the eccentric bolt out it's hitting the corner of the heat exchanger, the only options I can see to remove bolt is option 1. Remove heat exchanger ( with cylinder bolts that look very rusty that may snap!!!) Or option 2. Remove cross member with difficult nuts to get at... Can anyone advice or am I missing a the trick.[]

I just replaced my dampers and encountered the same problem but only on the near side.
I hade the car off the ground on axel stands, I put the trolley jack under the engine (this might be controversial but it does seem to be common practice) and lifted gently. This moved the engine up in relation to the body giving enough clearence so that with a light tap with a hammer and suitable drift the bolt came clear with no damage to bolt or heat exchanger. Replaced bolt the same way. I did not keep the engine jacked up for longer than necessary to perform removal or installation. I did wonder why there was a problem on only one side and why the heat exchanger had not been manufactured to give clearance.
