Help, I think my car is "hunting"

When I'm going easy at about 2200/2300 revs, the car jolts back and forth slightly as if it is labouring. I thought labouring was the problem initially, but it'll chug along happily at 1400 in top gear. how do I solve it? it's fine above and below this particular area.

Hi,
Mine used to do that and it was improved by fitting a new ditributor cap and rotor arm. It still did it but was not as noticeable as before. Then I fitted a Steve Wong chip and that fixed it. I think the standard chip may be little lean on light throtle openings to give low fuel consumption figures but I may be wrong.Anyway the Steve Wong chip made the car feel more 'alive'.
Jon.

Excellent! I've been thinking of a wong chip for next year, but my Pa's very much "you don't want to mess with a nice car like that" Now he see's it as a "repair" as opposed to a modification.

Oddly, I've got that DVD in my laptop at the mo. no, not the wong version. Paul kaye is mint.

Did find out the problem?? Ive just had a similar problem, sorted it now. Number 5 cylinder was fouling the sparkplug with deposits making it track inside the plug. (to many short jouneys) New plugs sorted it.

not got round to it yet. I'll try a new set of plugs. Mind you, I've got to sort the clutch out first and the fresh air blower, biut I'm living with it for now. Thanks for the info! She's due a service anyway so I might as well let them do it.

Is the blower screaming like a strangled cat??? I got a new one from Euro Car Parts about £135 But since i have seen that replacment motors are available for far less. Wouldnt leave it running like it is. There are to many burnt out at Douglas Valley Breakers because of this.

New plugs it is then!!! []

The blower has burnt out the resistor pack I think. Odd smell, white smoke from vents, now blower doesn't work. Silly me pushed the "amount of fresh air in" lever too far to the right i think.
