Hello, I have a Porsche Boxster 2001 3.2s, my key has given up locking my car by using the button, i can still start and unlock manually but the passenger door is not locking when using the key, i have a locked drivers door and an unlocked passenger door, is there anyway i can lock the passenger door or should it lock when using the key along with the drivers door, it looks like i will parking close to the driveway wall this evening, by the way the key is still flashing red when pressed.

Thanks for looking at my thread, it's much appreciated

PS is there a manual override procedure for locking both doors, i have tried locking 3 times fast, i get two beeps but passenger door is still unlocked :-(

You could try using the dash switch to lock whilst inside, then open the drivers door and lock it by key?

Hello again, due to work i've been unable to sort my problem, but i thought i'd update, when i lock the car 3 times quickly the hooter beeps 2 times and the passenger door remains open, i've checked the fuses and they are ok, any ideas?

thanks Paul

Paul,

I'm sure that Steve Winter will be able to give you some useful advice but I suspect that - as with most electrical gremlins - you'll need to run a full diagnostic check to get to the source of the problem and only a Porsche Centre or reputable Porsche Indy will be able to assist.

Jeff

Sounds like the door lock actuator has had enough - quite common - if it doesn't lock properly and the subsequently close the microswitches inside it then the car will fail to lock and double beep like you describe.
