Hi there, moved my locking wheel nut key to somewhere safe ! Ha. Now cant find it, need it for tomorrow as alloys are going to be refurbed, Would porshe centre cardiff have one if i went down 1st thing tomorrow !?!?

Nope wouldnt think so they might be able to get one but its a whole lot of hastle and takes ages and thats if it has been fitted by porsche...get an old socket roughly the same size and then hammer it on old school but it works

Surely they would have one in the workshop which they may loan to you?! How good is your relationship with them? [:)]

Most dealers carry a master set for each of the modern locking wheel nut styles. I'm sure they would remove yours and replace with standard bolts Or a new set.

I would also expect most wheel refurbishers to have a set of tools to remove locking wheels
nuts. I'm sure a phone call to each will determine the best course of action.

Good luck

I thought most main dealers carried a full set for their cars.

I doubt they would lend you one, but may take them off and replace them with standard studs. Are you sure it isn't where it should be in the front boot?

First call of action for tomorrow is call refurb centre see if its a problem they can sort orphone porsche to see if they can remove and replace them. Last option is the old socket and hammer job :( but knowing my luck it will turn up once the old ones have been removed.

Opc couldnt help, alloy shop couldnt help, ended up taking it to my tyre guy who got them all off in 20mins! Replaced with new ! im keeping an eye on my new locking nut key this time ! Ha

I remove locking wheel nuts off all my cars for this reason. Maybe I am lucky that I live in an area where wheel theft isn't an issue, but I've seen too many stories of locking nuts damaged and difficult to remove if you have a puncture or the unlock bolt is lost and they needs taken off by a garage.

But could that not effect your Insurance cover if they were fitted by Porsche from new?
