Hi

Can anyone help... I need to transport my 912 from London (NW1) to Andy' s in Sible hedingham - near Braintree.

Does anyone know of a good / sensible priced company / person who will help me out?

Basically I' ve shot a plug from the head - due to a PO bad helicoil![][][:' (] and need Andy to fix it. I can' t limp up there on 3!

Also - Always read your small print in your AA/RAC recovery documents! B%stards!

Anyone???

Does the small print say you have to be more than 1 mile from home?

I could tow it up for you. Fuel and beer money should cover it

Nick - you are a star! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
And yes... I have to be a mile and they have to take it to a garage of their recommendation! We could push it a mile and then take it to kiwk fit!

I will fill you car with beer and fuel! - Let me know when its possible... And BIG thanks again

I know about the Rac I am not sure i want to keep being a memebr they used to be good now they are rubbish. I really worry about the 912 on a long run if they take it to a garage .

1 you can bet they will leave it out side
2 Something will get nicked off it or worse
3 they will Co*k up the repair
4 then want to drive it all over the place ( a test drive they call it )
5 Then charge you silly money for a repair they had no idea how to do.

Both the RAC and AA have let me down this year they are cr*p.[][][]

I think we should set up a 912rescue data base. Like the 912 reg guys in the US.

So if one of us did break down we can pos get the Rac or AA to tow the car to one of the members homes for safe keeping ,until arrangements can be made to trailer the car back.

RAC were great when I broke down, my membership had lapsed as I had a new car (Audi with Audi assistance run by the RAC!) and I could not use that. They let me re-join at a cheaper price and towed me to my lock-up which they said they shouldn' t really do with the cheapest price plan I got, and they came within 45 mins on a Saturday afternoon, and sent a tow truck straight away rather than a patrol as I said they would not be able to fix it. I was delighted! [;)]

I think the ' Travel Assistance Network' would be a great thing to have, maybe the ' Heritage' cars would be a better bet as there are more of them... 911' s 12' s 14' s 56' s... I think with just the 912' s we would struggle to get any kind of coverage.[;)]
I will talk to the Powers that be...

what a great idea - the 356 Register in the States has a very active network. It would be a really good idea but it would be easiest if it was for all the early cars (i.e pre ' 73) or maybe I am discriminating there??
