Help needed - purchasing decision 996 C4s Cab

ok, this is what I usually mail in as a scam but I'd like to hear from the experts in the club whether they have come across this one.

Advertised on Pistonheads (or was it top marques) a suspiciously cheap 911 C4S cab at under 15k. I know, too cheap by far. Anyway, emailed the person concerned for a laugh - he came back to me. Have asked for more info.

So, the question, has anyone knowledge of an Andy Kelly selling such a car?
Look forward to hearing from someone soon.

I doubt it's the real deal but I think I'll string it out to see what happens.

Sounds like either its a CatD or a scam. The scams usually go along the line of "Its in Germany and you need to send us 1,000 GBP first) to get it out of customs or send money to a 'shipping' company to get it back to the UK" or something like that.

Let us know what happens

very good, Richard. Made me smile anyway!

If anyone finds a nice genuine C4S cab for £15k, I'd be willing to start forming the orderly queue!

Yes guys, as you'd expect, just a bit too good to be true.
As advised I took it a couple of steps and here's the result :

Hi there, I should have mentioned that I am living in Germany now, my mother is German and I decided to start things over and settle here after a bad marriage and a nasty divorce... it took me a while to sort things out. The car is here as well, I brought it with me as I had no intention to sell it initially.
The price is rather low because I wanted sell it here to local dealers and they told me they cannot buy such a model because no one here is interested in buying a right hand drive car registered in England, due to the great fees to maintain and register such a vehicle. So I decided to lower my offer and advertise it only on the English market.
I am just trying to sell this car because I need a new vehicle as soon as possible.
Please get back to me as soon as you have the chance and let me know if you are still interested.
All the best
Andy

Aww, shame.
This line of enquiry is now terminated but it was worth it to hear what sort of nonsense I'd get from him. It's not very impressive, is it? Not half as much fun as these Nigerian scams though, but that's another story.

BTW I looked again for the link but the ad has vanished, sorry. The guy'e email address is a btinternet.com one, anyone wants it let me know.

Cheers
Andrew
