Hi hope someone can offer some advice, got a porsche boxster 2.3S 2004, manual, had it stored over the winter and the battery is flat, alarm was armed when the battery died. Managed to get into front boot eventually to get battery out, however there is a major issue i lost the key for the car and had to order a new one from porsche. Finally got the key and tried to put the new codes in to program the new key but we can't bypass the alarm and have now been advised we need a new ACU to get round this. This was the only key (
Apparently the other option is buy a second hand acu with an ecu and key head (this would mean we would have 2 keys then) The cost for a new acu is around £280 + VAT, the second hand cost (i have found someone reputable who has chassis numbers and everything) is around £150
Is this really the case is there no way around this? also when we tried to program the key we hadn't charged the battery up would that affect anything?
If anyone can offer some advice asap that would be greatly appreciated
many thanks
