Help on Lights required Please

I have a slight problem with my lights. The dipped beam on the right hand side is not working. The main beam is and all other front lights. I have changed the bulb and checked the fuse which I now know are both ok. Any ideas welcome!!
I also have a queiry regarding the three screws that hold the light in situe. Two of them came out no problem but the top left on isn't actually a screw it seems to be a solid bolt so to get the unit out to replace the bulb I had to almost snap off the plastic raw plug thingy (technical I know). Is this the norm?

Cheers
Simon.

Simon,
Try "Wriggling" the loom aroung the light pod area, the raising & lowering can sometimes break the wires.

Funny you should say that...... During the MOT my car managed to blow 3 fuses, and one bulb on the N/S dipped beam.

Lots of messing around with connectors, tape and heat shrink fixed the problem today. Its a classic problem with 944's & 924's, the wire coating breaks down and shorts out or simply breaks in half !

I remember spending hours sorting mine out some years back. If I remember rightly the dipped beam has the same supply fuse for both sides whereas the main beam supplies are seperately fused for each side ?

I think you need to use a multimeter and check that you have 12v+ at the light connector .I seem to remember that I found my fault in the main beam dipp switch in the end. I think I ended up running a new cable in the end .

I would check that you are getting a 12v feed first at both lights on dipped beam then check you are getting a return to earth. Clean all contacts carefully. then if there is no feed to one of the lights you'll need to take the housing off the mainbeam stalk and check you have a supply there for all the lights. Sorry I can't help with a circuit diag I let my Haynes go with the car. The CD one I go off ebay is ******* useless

The `rawlbolt thingy' (nice technical term that) is probably the bolt you screw in and out to adjust the headlight beam yes ?!
