as everyone knows i managed to damage the car earlier this year when i forgot to do up the bonnet catches...anyhow i've finally got round to claiming on the insurance.
it looks like the bonnet is damaged, therefore i am trying to track down a new or 2nd hand ali one..

as they are now obsolete, does anyone on the forum know of anyone who has one for sale?

thanks in advance
matt

Still available from Porsche.. Last time I asked a few months ago there were 4 available. About £1800 + VAT!!..

Depends on whether the Ins Co are covering all costs, but if you're paying yourself it might be worth trying to find a good panel beater (ie. proper traditional craftsman) to restore yours. That way you'll also retain the matching numbers.

one sold on ebay.de a few months ago for around 900 euro - that's the only one I've seen, it may be worth contacting Tom Schmidt as he seems to be able to source rare 64RS parts

cheers

Surely this must be the best option.

thanks everyone for the replies - insurance company job so see what they say about the new bonnet...

paul - could you please pm me the details of your chap who did the work for you in case i decide to go down that route

thanks again all

I suppose if the Ins Co pay for a new bonnet you'll be able to keep the current one too. Seems an even better option - get the dented one fixed and keep it as a spare.

Lovely carbon bonnet on the bay for 964. Store the Alu one once it is fixed and then you don't have to worry.

Best bit is £750!
